Burr Hole Placement
An Emergency Exploratory Burr Hole is an extremely rare procedure where the Physician is placing several small holes in the skull to evaluate for blooding in an unstable patient. This procedure is taught in the Emergency Department but is almost never performed as the circumstances for it are very rare.As this is such a rare and unusual occurrence it is difficult for any ER resident to have the chance to see, let alone perform the procedure. This module is designed to demonstrate the procedure in a simulated environment with the ability to practice the actual drilling of bone on a 3D printed model.
Simple Print
This Print takes about 16 hours to Print at full size and uses approximately 350g of Filament. For the best result print thick walls and 20% infill to best replicate the feeling of real bone. PLA is preferred to ABS. Each half skull can be drilled multiple times and can be used for 3-4 trials.
